The main character worked in a hospital er and a homeless man comes in beaten and unresponsive , she soon realizes it’s her first love from when she was younger. I confessed on Facebook: Maryse: Confession: Whenever a beautiful dress is described in a book (especially wedding dresses), I google the intricate details given (material, color etc…) so I can try and “see it”… ) Kathy: Maryse, this was my first book by Jessica Park and I am ashamed to say I have never read Flat Out Love which has been on my Kindle for a couple of years!
My heart needs something gritty but sweet, and that sounds like exactly it. She wrote The Written in Red series, which is much beloved by lots of folks here. I can’t wait to read all the books to see what happens to this girl as she, grows into an adult. Worth the Fall and the others in this series have been wonderful. Buuuuut he doesn’t show and she learns as an adult it’s bc he didn’t want to hold her back so the bulk of the book is told in the past and then the other is told in the present as they fall in love all over again ! Not only are Allison and Esben’s evolution of their relationship so special to read but also the secondary characters of her Adopted Dad Simon and her best friend Steffi make the reader smile and cry. I wasn’t sure I would like it when I started, because it’s not your typical novel, more of a document/file with interviews, emails, maps, etc. Amy: Have I said lately how much I love Tarryn Fisher’s writing? As in love it so much I want to fold it up in neat little square and swallow it (those who read Mud Vein will get that ).
Anywho’s, why did I take so long to start this glorious series?? I just love it when I find a treasure trove of goodness!! Esben is one of the best book boyfriends that I have read. It definitely told a story that pulled me in from the start and I couldn’t put it down.
